Interview: Hisu Park
Today, fashion designer Hisu Park lets us take a look behind the scenes.
The label HISU PARK sfounded by her in 2021, represents confident, empowering fashion and a modern aesthetic. The fictional character “Grumpy Jane,” a delicate and sensitive woman who confidently expresses herself through her fashion, is the central motif of her collections Grumpy Jane (2021) and Grumpy Jane and Gang (2022).

I am a Korean-Austrian fashion designer, and I strive to empower people through my fashion. To do this, I created the fictional character "Grumpy Jane," who is accompanied by her gang of friends. The gang represents solidarity, acceptance, and hope.

If the street were my catwalk, Cash by Modeselektor would be my soundtrack.

My favorite pastime is going out to eat with friends and family. If I were an animal, I’d definitely be a cat. I would spend the whole day talking with my cat, Nonoka.

I love it when my fashion gives people strength and confidence. When they feel better by wearing my clothes. A downside is that it can be difficult to switch off in this industry. I usually have things constantly on my mind that I need to take care of. Once one task is done, the next one is already waiting for me.
