Open Call:
AFA Windows Takeover
USED TO BE / VANESSA SCHREINER x OSKAR OTT
The Austrian Fashion Association invited creatives to apply for two-month presentations of their work in the AFA’s display windows on Lindengasse.
The series opens with fashion designer Vanessa Schreiner and photographer Oskar Ott, who staged looks from the latest collection of Schreiner’s label Used To Be.
Used To Be focuses on upcycling and sustainability. In the current collection, discarded umbrellas sourced from flea markets, second-hand shops, and vintage platforms are deconstructed and transformed into new designs. Through experimental pattern-making, contemporary pieces emerge that carry traces of the past while pursuing a clear commitment to sustainability.
The accompanying photo series by Oskar Ott and Vanessa Schreiner forms part of a continuous narrative in which each collection is situated within new, nature-oriented environments.
Two of these images will be on view in the Austrian Fashion Association’s display windows starting tomorrow.
